Nimbility’s team of market and brand building experts will be out in full force at this year’s inaugural Vinexpo Shanghai at the end of October, showcasing a carefully curated selection of our premium wine and spirits brands.

With a design that will set it apart from the rest, the Nimbility Pavilion will feature a wine and spirits bar that will allow for a more relaxed tasting environment where buyers can easily interact with producers and Nimbility’s team of experts.

“Vinexpo has a reputation for excellence worldwide and their approach is aligned with many of Nimbility’s core values,” says Nimbility Founding Partner and CEO Ian Ford. “Nimbility is fully committed to building a sustainable China and Asia market for our brand partners, so it was an easy decision to take a pavilion at this first Shanghai edition of Vinexpo. We will not only showcase many of our top brands, but also host a number of masterclasses, organise and chair this year’s ‘China Market Conference’, and hold what will be the hottest 'after party' in the city that week!”

Set to be an unmissable event, this year’s China Market Conference will kick off with an overview of the fundamental changes taking place in the Mainland China wine market, presented by Nimbility’s Ian Ford. This will include a detailed look at China’s import statistics, explaining the changing of the guard from France to Australia and the mid-year decline in 2019 of bottled imports to China; the tectonic shift from sole importer models to multi-importer models and how this works; and new look retail including next generation O2O, Hema supermarkets, JD.com, WeChat stores, facial recognition and the future of ‘bricks and mortar’.

This will be followed by an in-depth panel discussion of the implications of these changes to producers and China wine professionals alike, and how to navigate the path forward. The panellists will all be senior China experts from different segments of the wine world. The conference will conclude with an extended Q&A session for audience members to pose questions to the panel.

Continuing on an educational theme, with the aim of bringing greater focus and depth to this year’s event, each afternoon the Nimbility team and brand owners will host masterclasses on the Nimbility Pavilion, focusing on current market trends and key areas of interest. These will include themes such as ‘Patagonia: a view from both sides of the Andes’ presented by Viña Casa Silva and Verum by Verum, ‘Hometown heroes: how modern brands are storytelling with regional ingredients’ highlighting the current global trend for using local ingredients in beverage production, and ‘Mindful mixology: a creative approach to low and no drinking’ featuring Four Fox Saké, XECO Fino Sherry, Gre3n Coconut Water and Highlite, a sparkling maté tea drink.

“Vinexpo Hong Kong has built its reputation over the past 20 years as the premier wine show in Asia,” says Viña Casa Silva’s Commercial Director Arnaud Frennet. “We are therefore very excited to be part of the Nimbility Pavilion at the inaugural Vinexpo Shanghai. Here will we be able to support our local importers by showcasing our wines to new prospective downstream customers as well as build our brand visibility via initiatives such as Nimbility’s masterclass program where we will have the chance to delve deeper into some of Viña Casa Silva’s truly unique and iconic wines.”

Lightening the late afternoon mood each day Nimbility’s guests will be invited to enjoy a ‘Happy Hour’ featuring a selection of wines by the glass and specially curated cocktails by Nimbility’s resident mixologist and Spirits Director Micaela Piccolo.

“Micaela was responsible for designing our now signature Fox and Tonic serve with a grapefruit twist,” says Michael Campion, Managing Director of Four Fox Saké, “so we are really looking forward to having her serve these up to our guests at Vinexpo Shanghai as well as bringing her expertise and insight to the masterclass events where Four Fox Saké will be showcased.”

Continuing the fun on Wednesday night, a by-invite-only After Party will also be hosted by Nimbility and their producers for top VIP customers. Set to be the hottest ticket in town that evening, guests should be prepared for a number of surprises and delights from local food and beverage partners as well as expertly crafted cocktails and a top selection of wines featuring old vintages and large format bottles.

“Vinexpo Shanghai is the perfect platform for Nimbility to be able to showcase a top selection of our wines, spirits and premium beverages in a way that sets us apart from the crowd,” says Nimbility Founding Partner and CMO Francesca Martin. “With our modern stand design, series of educational activities and evening entertainment we aim to move beyond the traditional trade fair mould, and highlight our position as true market builders in China and beyond.”
