How are we making the most of our Coravin?

March marks Nimbility’s anniversary, and in the past three years we have had many wine brands join our portfolio, looking for our help and support to build both their markets and their brand in Asia.

In our quest to find our brands the best partners in market, naturally, we organize and host copious amounts of tastings!

In era’s gone by, this would have amounted to a considerable amount of wine going to waste due to opening too many bottles to be easily consumed. 

Criminal I hear you cry!

But sadly the reality is, when we get down to business, often just a few sips from each bottle is all that’s needed to assess a wine for all its quality attributes, and then it’s on to the next.

Thankfully for us, we live in the age of technology and a solution to ever having to waste any wine again has been found! 

Unlike other wine preservers, which only delay the oxidation of your wine, the Coravin Wine Preservation System is designed to pour wine without removing the cork, so wine always tastes like it has just been opened—even years later.

The Needle is the pinnacle of Coravin's technology: the non-coring Coravin Needle gently passes through corks without displacing cork material.

 
 

Once the Needle is removed, the cork simply expands back to its normal shape. As wine is extracted through the Needle, it is replaced with pure Argon gas, ensuring oxygen never touches the remaining wine, keeping it as fresh as the day it was bottled.


The technology doesn’t stop with cork: Coravin Screw Caps bring preservation to screw cap wines. 

The system extends the life of wines closed with screw caps for up to three months. 

 
 

This specially designed accessory replaces the original screw cap closure and features a silicone liner that can withstand fifty punctures by the Coravin Needle before needing to be replaced.

At Nimbility we use Coravin for many of our internal tastings to save on wine wastage, as well as external meetings where we are pouring our icon wines for small group tastings. 

Many restaurants across APAC now have Coravin programs to enable serving more premium wine options by the glass, which has totally revolutionized by the glass offerings in wine bars and restaurants. 

In addition to bringing more variety to wine lists, Coravin also saves accounts money as wine is preserved instead of being exposed to oxidation.
