Maison Mirabeau's Next Chapter in China Market with Sommelier International

Maison Mirabeau, the award-winning Provence rosé brand, is delighted to announce its re-entry into the Chinese market through a new distribution partnership with leading fine wine importer Sommelier International. Starting this September, three of Maison Mirabeau’s signature cuvées — Mirabeau X, Étoile, and La Folie — will be introduced across Sommelier International’s network of premium restaurants, hotels, and retail partners throughout China.

Stephen Cronk, Co-Founder of Maison Mirabeau, commented: “We’re delighted to be bringing a taste of Provence to China with Sommelier International. At Mirabeau, every cuvée is crafted with care and passion, but they also carry with them the joy, conviviality and effortless elegance that our region embodies. We look forward to share that lifestyle with Chinese consumers as rosé becomes part of their own moments of celebration and enjoyment.”

Founded in 2013, Sommelier International has established itself as one of China’s most respected on-trade specialist importers. With a portfolio that includes renowned names such as Dievole, Altos Las Hormigas, Tenuta di Meraviglia, and Tinpot Hut, the company has built long-term partnerships with many of the country’s leading restaurants, hotels, and retailers.

Vicente Muedra, General Manager at Sommelier International, added: “Maison Mirabeau represents a new generation of rosé from Provence: modern, vibrant, and highly digital in the way it engages with consumers. That makes it an ideal brand for a market as dynamic and digitally driven as China, where storytelling and lifestyle are essential to success.”

This launch also comes at a pivotal moment for China’s wine market. Consumer preferences are evolving rapidly, moving away from a focus on status-driven and heavy red wines toward more expressive styles such as new-world whites and innovative formats of purchasing and drinking wine. Against this backdrop, rosé is widely expected to be the next category to flourish, reflecting a trend already seen across Asia and other global markets where rosé has become synonymous with lifestyle, conviviality, and modern premium drinking occasions.

Nichole Mao, Partner at Nimbility, commented: “Our role is to create long-term partnerships that help producers succeed in new markets. From the outset, it was clear that Maison Mirabeau’s fresh and contemporary approach to rosé was a strong fit for Sommelier International’s forward-looking portfolio.”

Maison Mirabeau’s story is one of following a dream and a passion for Provence’s elegant rosé wines. In 2010, Jeany and Stephen Cronk moved their family from South London to Provence to create world-class rosé wines. Their bold move led to the creation of one of the world’s most beloved and innovative rosé brands. Today, Maison Mirabeau’s diverse portfolio is available in over 40 markets, has won numerous awards, and is acclaimed for its environmental stewardship and digital communications. Their rosé wines, grape-based gin, and spritz symbolise the joy of celebrating life’s beautiful moments with friends and family.
