Nimbility’s team of market and brand building experts was out in full force at this year’s inaugural Vinexpo Shanghai, showcasing a carefully curated selection of our premium wine and spirits brands. The Nimbility Pavilion allowed for a more relaxed tasting environment at its wine & spirits bar, where buyers could easily interact with producers and Nimbility’s team of experts.
Nimbility also organised and chaired this year’s ‘China Market Conference’, offering an overview of the fundamental changes taking place in the Mainland China wine market, presented by Nimbility’s Ian Ford. This included a detailed look at China’s import statistics, explaining the changing of the guard from France to Australia and the mid-year decline in 2019 of bottled imports to China; the tectonic shift from sole importer models to multi-importer models and how this works; and new look retail including next generation O2O, Hema supermarkets, JD.com, WeChat stores, facial recognition and the future of ‘bricks and mortar’. This was followed by an in-depth panel discussion of the implications of these changes to producers and China wine professionals alike, and how to navigate the path forward.
Continuing the fun on Wednesday night, Nimbility also hosted the hottest by-invite-only 'after party' in the city that week at Bull & Claw for TOP VIP customers.
Set to be the hottest ticket in town that evening, guests enjoyed a number of surprises and delights from local food and beverage partners as well as expertly crafted cocktails and a top selection of wines and large format bottles.
